AWARD INFORMATION

Pony Club WA clubs, coaches, volunteers and members are the backbone of the pony club movement in WA.

Help us celebrate their 2020 achievements by nominating someone for the 2020 Pony club WA Annual Awards in one of the following categories:

  • *Pony Club WA Series of the Year
  • *Pony Club WA Event of the Year
  • Pony Club WA Grass Roots Coach of the Year
  • Pony Club WA Coach of the Year
  • **Best Achievement by a Rider 12 yrs and under
  • **Best Achievement by a Rider 13-16 yrs
  • **Pony Club WA Associate Member of the Year
  • Pony Club WA Volunteer of the Year
  • Pony Club WA Club of the Year

* Events run under other affiliations are not eligible for this award.
**Age at 1st January 2020

All awards will be presented at the Pony Club WA Awards Event, February 2021 – keep an eye out for the save the date!

Nominations

  • Nominations must be submitted electronically through the survey link.
  • Nominations should focus on the nominee’s activities over the preceding 12 months.
  • Each nomination must be accompanied with information addressing the award criteria.
  • Only nominations that address each criterion adequately will be accepted.

Nominations close: Sunday 20th December 2020
Please note: NO late nominations will be accepted.

Judging Panel

  • Each eligible nomination will be considered by a panel of 4.
  • The panel will be made up of representatives from SCP, Board and Office.
  • Nominations will be judged according to the award criteria with each of the assessment criteria being equally weighted.
  • The judging panel may decline to make an award for any category if it determines there is not a submission of sufficient merit to be given an award.

 

Award Criteria

Pony Club WA Series of the Year
Selection criteria:

  • Must be advertised as a series with series awards.
  • Run under Pony Club WA affiliation and rules
  • Well organised
  • Sound risk management procedures in place
  • Friendly and inclusive
  • Positive and encouraging atmosphere.


Pony Club WA Event of the Year

Selection criteria:

  • Must be a single event, not part of a series
  • Run under Pony Club WA affiliation and rules
  • Well organised
  • Sound risk management procedures in place
  • Friendly and inclusive
  • Positive and encouraging atmosphere.


Pony Club WA Grass Roots Coach of the Year
Selection criteria:

  • Be a coach currently registered with Pony Club WA
  • Contribute to the development of E, D and D* riders at Pony Club
  • Commitment to coaching excellence and professional development
  • Personal passion and resilience including feedback from students and peers


Pony Club WA Coach of the Year

Selection criteria:

  • Be a coach currently registered with Pony Club WA
  • Contribution to the development of the coaching program at Pony Club
  • Commitment to coaching excellence and professional development
  • Mentor to other coaches in their Club and/or Zone
  • Encourage the development of coaching skills in Associate Members in their club and/ or Zone
  • Personal passion and resilience including feedback from students and peers

 

Best Achievement by a Rider 12yrs and under
Selection criteria:

  • Participation in Pony Club rallies and activities
  • Improvement in riding and leadership skills through diligence and effort
  • Club citizenship (e.g. helpful to others)

Best Achievement by a Rider 13-16yrs
Selection criteria:

  • Participation in Pony Club rallies and activities
  • Improvement in riding and leadership skills through diligence and effort
  • Club citizenship (e.g. helpful to others)


Pony Club WA Associate Member of the Year

Selection criteria:

  • Be currently registered as an Associate Riding Member with Pony Club WA
  • Participation in Pony Club rallies and activities
  • Improvement in riding and leadership skills through diligence and effort
  • Contribution to club/zone or state management and programs


Pony Club WA Volunteer of the Year

Selection criteria:

  • Uphold and promote the ideals and objectives of Pony Club WA
  • Contribute to the development of their Pony Club or Association for the benefit of members
  • Commitment to good governance and professionalism.


Pony Club WA Club of the Year

Selection criteria:

  • Be currently affiliated with Pony Club WA
  • Implement initiatives to attract and retain members
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and responsiveness to the needs of members
  • Demonstrate sound club management and good governance (Updated Constitution, Use of My Pony Club Database etc)
  • Delivery of programmes that support the coaching syllabus (Certificates, Coaching Accreditations etc)
  • Participation in State based initiatives (Healthway Activities, Speed to Safety etc)
  • Uphold and promote the ideals and objectives of Pony Club WA
