New True Sport Dispute Resolution Initiative | Helping sport navigate disputes with confidence

15/09/2026

Disputes and conflict happen in all sports. Having access to the right support can help organisations navigate challenging situations fairly, independently and constructively.

SportWest is pleased to announce the launch of the True Sport Dispute Resolution Initiative, in partnership with the WA Government – a new initiative designed to support sporting organisations across Western Australia to better navigate disputes and access appropriate professional support when they need it.

Introducing the True Sport Preferred Provider List

A key part of the initiative is the True Sport Preferred Provider List – a directory of experienced and independently vetted mediators, investigators and dispute resolution practitioners who can support sporting organisations across WA.

Providers can assist with a range of matters, including:

  • Mediation and conflict resolution
  • Independent investigations
  • Complaints and interpersonal disputes
  • Governance disputes
  • Other matters requiring independent dispute resolution support

Each provider has been assessed through a formal EOI and vetting process, considering their qualifications, experience, professional practice and suitability to work within the WA sporting sector.

A resource for WA sport

The Preferred Provider List has been developed to make it easier for sporting organisations to identify an experienced professional when they need additional support.

SportWest does not provide dispute resolution services through the list. Providers are independent practitioners, and sporting organisations are responsible for determining the most appropriate provider for their circumstances and engaging them directly.
