Membership Categories

Members join Pony Club WA for different reasons. To participate in rallies and club competitions, to compete in open and state competitions, and to volunteer, coach or officiate at rallies and club, state or open competitions under the protection of Pony Club Australia’s insurance and code of conduct.

Joining with the right membership category is important to make sure you’re covered for the activities you plan to participate in, without paying for features you don’t need.

Individual pony clubs operate fairly independently in lots of ways including managing their own members, coaches and volunteers, sourcing sponsorship and additional revenue, buying equipment and negotiating the terms of their club grounds.

The cost per member of running each individual pony club varies greatly depending on factors like the number of club members, the cost to use the club grounds and the availability of volunteers versus paid coaches, officials and helpers. Members have traditionally joined Pony Club WA through their local club. More recently, Pony Club WA has established a new way for members who don’t fit the model of the standard junior rider, attached to one club, to become members.
